Maxine Virginia Easter served in the Army Nurse Corps from 1942 to 1955 and the Navy Nurse Corps from 1955 to 1970 .
Maxine Virginia Easter began her military career in the Army Nurse Corps in 1942. In 1945, she served with the 313th General Hospital in Manila, Philippines, where she cared for prisoners of war. From 1952 to 1954, she was stationed in Europe. Easter served with the army until 1955, when she transferred to the Navy Nurse Corps. She was stationed in Norfolk, Virginia, and China Lake and Port Hueneme, California. Easter retired in 1970. |
