Industrial Trip
To Philadelphia
The Greensboro Chamber of
Commerce industrial team that
is going to Philadelphia the
week of March 8 is getting the
help of six Greensboro firms in
making appointments with Philadelphia manufacturers.
Letters to 55 suppliers in
Philadelphia are being written
by E. A. Morris, Blue Bell, Inc..;
T. A. Hunter, Burlington Industries, Inc.; John B. Hatfield,
Sears, Roebuck and Co.; R. T.
Renfro, Western Auto Supply
Company; Russell F. Hall, Jr.,
Wysong and Miles Company,
and G. C. Eichhorn, Vick Chemical Company.
Suppliers of J. P. Stevens
and Co. in Philadelphia have already been contacted by members of the Chamber staff and
some will receive follow-up calls
from members of the industrial
team.
In addition to the suppliers of
local companies, the prospect list
in Philadelphia contains more
than 175 other names. From this
list, the team members are expected to make appointments for
personal visits with about 40
companies.
Greensboro automobile dealers who are members of the
team are Edward H. Alexander,
Alexander and Mann Motor Co.;
William H. Black II, Black Cad-

The first general meeting of
the recently organized six-county Northern Piedmont Area Development Association will be at
7:30 p.m. February 26 at Elliott
Hall on the Woman's College
campus.
Public invitations have been
extended to residents in Guilford, Alamance, Davidson, Rockingham, Caswell, and Randolph
counties. Those attending will
become charter members of the
organization.
Purpose of the meeting will
be to elect officers and directors,
present the by-laws, and discuss
the area program which will involve industrial development,
agricultural development, travel
and recreation, and community

Control Program
Is Well Received
Throughout City
The new Advertising-Donation-Solicitation Control Program established jointly by the
Chamber of Commerce, Merchants Association, and Piedmont Associated Industries has
been well received by the membership of the three organizations.
This program, operating as
the Greensboro Business Council, has, in fact, been described
by some members as one of the
most valuable services rendered
to Greensboro business firms.
