Scheduled for March 17 (rain date is March 24), this popular event brought more than 70. Fisher Park neighbors together last year for a successful cleanup of the park, culminating in a fun-filled oyster roast and hot dog and hamburger cookout. This year will be much the same, starting with the cleanup from 9-11 a.m. Then we'll regroup at 6 p.m. at the bonfire - built from fallen limbs gathered during the park cleanup - where we'll roast the oysters. There's no charge, but if you're planning to come, call Liz Urquhart at 333-0461 by March 15 with the number you're bringing. For information on critical cleanup areas and what tools to bring, contact Park Committee Chairperson Angie Leath, 379-9699- And-as always-if you can't make it to the cleanup, your donation to the Park Fund works all year to help keep our beautiful park groomed. **P FISHER PARK- EST. 1902 /^ast summer, an anonymous donor ^.^rannounced a challenge grant for our neighborhood through the Community Foundation. The promise is to match up to $2,500 raised by Fisher Park residents. Our deadline is June 30, 2001, so we have until then to raise the funds to have them matched by the donor. So far, the total is $1,450 (please see the donor list on page 2). In 1997, the FPNA established a fund with the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro, a nonprofit community support agency that provides nonprofit organizations professional endowment management services. This challenge is an excellent opportunity to boost the financial strength of the neighborhood as we approach our second century, so please remember the challenge as you plan your annual giving. A form is included on page 3 for donating to the challenge grant, but if you have questions, call Oz Urquhart at 373-1250. ^ Homes Tour Flyer ^^T^on't overlook the 2002 Homes V^and Gardens Tour flyer that accompanies this newsletter! Slated for May 2002, this event will be a cornerstone of Fisher Park's Centennial Celebration. *JT* The Tisher Tark TieL^hhorhoob is listed on the Tiational T,e$ister of 4iistoric Tiaces
