Each tale preceded by woodcut; most tales followed by design made from type ornaments; woodcuts possibly modelled after those in first edition (1729), cf. The authentic Mother Goose fairy tales and nursery rhymes / Jacques Barchilon and Henry Pettit. Denver : A. Swallow, 1960. Last tale from The Governess by Sarah Fielding; title (with no tale number or woodcut) and text follow end of Little Thumb on p. 149. Dutch floral paper over boards; stab sewn through the signatures.
