Description
This pamphlet by the North Carolina Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction is based on reports of school and library improvements from 1900 to 1904. Topics include, "Reports on Consolidation" for Caldwell County, Granite Falls District and the Pitt County, Swift Creek No. 1 District. There are numerical records of their Loan Fund, quantities of school-houses built from 1900-1902 and 1902-1904 and total amounts spent, and a more extensive listing of libraries built, including their expense. Included are several “before” and “after” photographs of improved school houses, from the following North Carolina counties: Pamlico, Greene, Henderson, Vance, Rockingham, Swain, and Wilson.
