Dear Honorable President-elect Obama,
My father passed away in 1995, but had he been alive he would have been ecstatic to learn that a person of color has garnered the presidency. I never thought that I would see a person of color gain the highest office in the land. On Election Day, I took my mother from her nursing facility to vote, and I'm sure she voted for you. My siblings and I are quite elated to learn that a fellow Chicagoan and White Socks fan is now racing the corridors of the White House. Remember to keep education a focal point of your administration. Hope to see you at your inauguration and at the next White Socks game.
A loyal citizen,
Ann Adams
