WHAT IS TEL-MED?
Tel-Med is a library of tape-recorded health
messages which have been carefully selected to:
• help you remain healthy
• help you recognize early signs
of illness
• help you adjust to a serious illness
The tapes are 3 to 5 minutes long and are
presented in straightforward, easy to understand language. Each tape has been carefully
screened by physicians and other health
care experts to insure its accuracy.
DEVELOPED BY PHYSICIANS
The doctors in your community have prepared a library of 210 taped messages
about your health. You can listen to these
messages over your telephone from the
privacy of your own home. This service is
free of charge.
This service is available
Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
HOW DOES TEL-MED WORK?
It's easy! Just call 889-3733 in High Point
or in Greensboro call 373-4752 and give the
operator the number of the tape you wish to
hear. (See inside panels for a complete
list of tapes.)
Let's say you wish to know more about
stroke. Simply dial the number and ask for
Tape #26: The operator will then play the
tape for you which discusses this illness and
the steps you can take to recognize it. If
you wish to hear the tape again, or any
other tape, call back and the operator will
be happy to play it for you.
