C, June-July, 1963 No. 9 Management Dinner Held June 13 At King Cotton The semi-annual Greensboro Management dinner was held June 13 in the Wedgwood Room of the King Cotton Hotel. « B. B. Fort, Director of Production Planning, Purchasing and Distribution, presided and welcomed the following new members: Genevieve Ingram, Group Leader; George Marsden, Manager of Office Services; Willie Williams, Cookroom Foreman; Bill Shankle, Accountant; Tim Rath, Assistant to the Assistant General Manager. W. L. Moose, Assistant to the Chief Production Chemist, gave the invocation. C. A. McKeel, Personnel Manager, recognized three employees who will retire this year. They are Charlotte Foster, who will retire July 1; J. W. Clarida, September 1; and Mr. Moose, November 1. Special recognition also was given to H. G. Prather, since this was his last meeting with the group prior to his transfer to J. T. Baker Chemical Company. Mr. Fort reviewed the highlights of the 1962-63 fiscal year . G. C. Eichhorn reviewed the progress of the Division for the past fiscal year and some of the plans which have developed for the future. Later in the program he informed the group of the developments throughout the Richardson-Merrell Enterprise. G. J. Schleck brought the group up to date on the progress of various engineering functions throughout the division. John McGehee discussed the overall plans for Greensboro operations. J. R. Markley told of the production activities planned for Greensboro in the next six months. Retirement will come July 1 for Charlotte Foster, Supervisor of Office Services and Sales Promotions, after more than 45 years of service. Mrs. Foster Retires After Nearly 46 Years Charlotte Foster, Office Services Supervisor, will have completed more than 45 years of service with Vick when her retirement becomes effective on July 1. A native of Greensboro, Mrs. Foster was first employed by Vick in 1915 in the Media Department. Through the intervening years she has worked in many departments of the company. Since February, 1939, she has been Supervisor of Office and Sales Promotion Services. In the last three weeks she has been honored on a number of occasions. On June 11, having been .a guest at many birthday parties through the years at the cafeteria, she intro duced the novel idea of giving her own party. At each place on the cafeteria tables was placed a square of birthday cake complete with a lighted candle and the numeral 65. The girls in her department gave her a deck of playing cards as a present. On June 27 she was honored by the company during lunch at the Milton Street Cafeteria. G. C. Eichhorn, General Manager, presented her with a gift from the company. She received greetings and remembrances from the Sales Promotion Department in New York with whom she had closely worked for many years. She also received a gift from fellow employees.
