■ ■ t's hard to believe that people at the Urban Ministry
11 I Clinic have to choose between food and medicine,"
says Libby Heermans, associate director of Allied
Health, Public Health and Dental Education. Libby
has been a volunteer since the spring of 1990.
"It is interesting to me to see entire families
coming in with the sick family member. They
are very supportive of each other.
"I look forward to my evening at the clinic; it has a purity
of purpose. While I'm there, I'm directly helping others,"
adds Libby. "Everyone works at the clinic for the same reason. No volunteer comes to work with a bad attitude. Everyone pulls together, working toward the same goal, making a
