GUILFORD COUNTY MEDICAL AUXILIARY
GREENSBORO BRANCH
September 6, 1963
Hello:
Let me thank you for your willing cooperation and enthusiasm already shown
this summer. One of the outstanding services rendered was your generous help
with the tetanus immunization clinics held June 6. Twelve stations throughout
town were "manned" by our members.
Our theme this year is "Partnership." The Medical Profession has long been
plagued with a public image of the physician through distorted eyes. Let us strive
this year to replace this concept with the true picture of the service we render with
our husbands.
We have an exciting and busy year ahead of us. Plans have been underway for
our BIG PROJECT - really BIG. In case you haven't heard, the State Medical Convention meets here in May. Here is an opportunity for us to help our Auxiliary -
both county and state. We will be hostess to all the county auxiliaries in the state.
Let's show them what a good job we can do.
The National Auxiliary to the A.MA. is stressing membership this year. They
urge at least 20% increase. Now more than ever we need to increase our active members. Our goal is 100%. Believe it or not, some of the counties in the state have met
this. With our potential of 188 doctors' wives - let's try and do better than we did
last year which saw a membership of 125. Come on - we need you!

Circle Tuesday, September 17, 11:45 A.M., at the Greensboro Country Club
for our first meeting. Dr. Roy Smith, President of the Guilford County Medical
Society, will be our speaker. We also have some new doctors' wives to honor. We
want to try something new this month. No cards will be sent announcing the meeting.
Instead, you will be called and your reservation taken at that time. Remember, reservations made must be paid for! Board members -come the 17th, at 10:30, for a
board meeting before the meeting.
Our treasurer, Jo Stafford, has labored over the budget. She needs your support - and dues. ($10 for members - $2.5 0 for widows). For your convenience,
enclosed is a statement for you to return as soon as possible. Our commitments
are already due - nursing scholarships, etc.
With your help this will be a stimulating, interesting, and successful year.
I am looking forward to seeing you.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Waiter C. Lusk
