Hej Greensboro Ambulatory Surgery Center
Dear Doctors:
I want to inform you that our Certificate of Need
application review date has been extended until Nov. 30,
Currently, we are not sure as to what this development
means. However, to be safe rather than sorry, it is now
more important than ever to demonstrate the support of
the physicians in our Community for this project.
We have learned that the hospitals (i.e. Moses Cone
and Wesley Long) have continued their opposition to our
facility. Also, in a Letter opposing our project,
Dr. Bob Phillips states:
"If built, will it succeed? Absolutely, since the
two dozen physician investors probably will make
sure of thin... to enhance their own investment. .,he:
it has been stated 'the physicians of Greensboro
want this facility' it is meant the investing
•physicians. If this were put to a vote to all
physicians in Greensboro, I doubt that many
would vote for it...."
This type of opposition is unfounded because this project
was constructed in a manner to specifically avoid this type
Certainly, opposition from the hospitals
of criticism.
is no surprise, but as a consequence, I must again ask all
of you and any of your friends to write letters to the
State in support of our project. These letters need to
in the mail
to:
be
no later than Friday, November j>, and addressed
Mr. Kverette Jenkins, Assistant Chief
Certificate of hoed Section
State Department of Human denounces
Division of Facility Cervices
P.O. Box 12200

I would also appreciate a copy mailed to my home,,
Thanks again for all the support. I cannot emphasize
H how important it is to reinforce all of the positives of our
project at this time. So,please try to get a letter off as
soon as possible.
I will keep everyone posted on developments as I
hear them.
Sincerely,
Donald Linder
