Dear Mrs. Smith:
We would like to report to you, so that you might share it with
the Medical Auxiliary membership, the manner in which our agency used
your $1,000.00 contribution for our Sick Room Equipment Loan Closet.
As you recall, the contribution was presented to us in January,
1967. We delayed using these funds with the hope of purchasing a
wider variety and more equipment at low cost from the Piedmont Hospital.
However, our efforts were unsuccessful so we decided to order the following items through the Purchasing Office of Cone Memorial Hospital
at wholesale prices.
3 Wheelchairs @ $61;. 80
3 Hospital Beds @ $67-85
2 Hospital Bed Rails @ $29.75 pr.
3 Walkers @ $10.71 ea.
12 Crutches & Tips ($1*.63) + $27.00
1 Suction Pump
1 Hoyer Lifter @ $100.00
(purchased from local woman)
$ 19U.U0
203.55
59.50

109.1*1
100.00
NOTE: $269.38 is being held in reserve in case we do have
the opportunity to buy some equipment from Piedmont
Hospital.
Approximately twelve individuals have already used certain pieces
of this equipment. It is indeed gratifying to be able to fill most of
the requests coming from families in need within our community.
In addition to expressing our sincere appreciation for this valuable assistance, we wish to request that the Medical Auxiliary again
consider this project for your 1967-68 program year. There continues
to be a need for such equipment as:
Intermitten Positive Breathing Machine - about $1*00.00 ea.
Oxygen Breathing Machines - about $60.00 ea.
Suction Pump (l or 2 more) $109.1*1 ea.
Other unusual emergency needs \\lltf
