hereinafter referred to as the affiliating agency.
The above agencies through their representatives agree to
establish a school of practical nursing to be known as the
Greensboro School of Practical Nursing and to be operated in
accordance with the following:
I. OBJECTIVES
Provide a curriculum which includes adequate basic training
and learning experiences in medical, surgical, obstetrical
and pediatric nursing so as to fully comply with all of the
rules and regulations of the North Carolina Board of Nurse
Registration and Nursing Education Enlarged.
Guide the student practical nurse in the development of an
attitude that will help her both to work in harmony with all
members of the health team and to have an understanding
attitude in her dealings with patients.
Work with her toward the development of proper wcrk habits
and an ethical attitude in dress, manner and action.
Assist her in adjusting herself to a nursing environment.
Aid her in the understanding and application of basic principles
underlying correct nursing procedures and help her to exercise
sound and intelligent judgements in the application of skills
in varying situations.
Explain the scope and limitations of each of the duties of
the practical nurse in such detail that misunderstandings
regarding her functions may be eliminated.
Clarify the relationship of practical nursing to professional
nursing.
Strive to develop in each student practical nurse, a feeling
of pride in her work, and a sincere desire to render a real
service to her patients.
II. SUPERVISION OF PROGRAM
To justify the use of public vocational education funds, the
program will be under public supervision or control and will
be organized in accordance with the following which are
incorporated in the provisions of the State Plan for Vocational
Education.
