Dear Doctor:
As the enclosed material will tell you, the Bennett Amendment to Public
Law 92-603, the PSRO Law, is now in effect. Area III of the North Carolina
PSRO Areas, includes Rockingham, Caswell, Alamance, Randolph and Guilford
Counties, and several of us in these counties have met together and have
formed a non-profit corporation for the purpose of establishing a Medical
Peer Review Foundation for this Area. We have an initial Board of Directors
and we have been incorporated. We now need you.
As you are aware, the law states that PSRO must represent a substantial
number of physicians in the Area and we are therefore calling upon you to
join with us in establishing this PSRO. Please read carefully the enclosed
material and then complete the application form and mail it to the above
address. Your cooperation in this matter and your help are greatly
appreciated; without you our efforts will prove unsuccessful.
