MEDICAL/DENTAL STAFF MEMBERS ELECTED Dr. David Newman has been elected President of the Hospital's Medical/Dental Staff, succeeding Dr. Robert H. Foreman. At the Medical/Dental Staff Annual Meeting, Dr. S. Dean McPhail was elected to the President-Elect position. Dr. Newman is with Triad Surgical Specialists. He received his Medical Degree from the Bowman Gray School of Medicine, and served an internship and residency at Richland Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina. Dr. Newman joined the Medical/Dental Staff in 1985. Dr. McPhail, an obstetrics and gynecology physician in private practice, received his Medical Degree from the Medical College of South Carolina, and served an internship and residency at Greenville Hospital, and Fort Campbell/William Beaumont, respectively. Dr. McPhail joined the Medical/Dental Staff in 1972. Continuing in their terms are: Dr. David Grove, of Greensboro Medical Associates, Chief of the Department of Medicine; Dr. S. Dean McPhail, Chief of the Department of OB/GYN; and Dr. R. Preston Lentz, of Greensboro Pediatricians, Chief of the Department of Pediatrics. Elected for a second three-year term was Dr. Kenneth Winter, of Guilford Radiology Associates, Chief of the Department of Radiology; and Dr. Anne King, of Piedmont Pediatrics, Department of Pediatrics Representative to the Medical Executive Committee. Newly elected were Dr. Robert Evans, of Tannenbaum Urologic Associates, Chief of the Department of Surgery; Dr. Joel Heller, of Guilford College Family Practice Associates, Department of Medicine Representative to the Medical Executive Committee; Dr. John Patrick, of Guilford Pathology, Director of Pathology Services and Representative to the Medical Executive Committee; and Dr. Richard Holland, of Greensboro Physicians for Women, Department of OB/GYN Representative to the Medical Executive Committee. Retiring from Wesley Long Community Hospital's Executive Committee are: Dr. Christian Streck, of Triad Surgical Specialists, President of the Hospital's Medical/Dental Staff in 1995; Dr. James Aplington, of Greensboro Orthopaedic Center, Chief of the Department of Surgery for 1991 - 1996; Dr. John McComb, of Greensboro Physicians for Women, Department of OB/GYN Representative to the Medical Executive Committee for 1991 - 1996; and Dr. Dale Dreiling, of Triad Family Practice, Department of Medicine Representative to the Medical Executive Committee for 1993 - 1996. NEW MEDICAL/DENTAL STAFF MEMBERS - WELCOME Patricia Shevlin, MD, is a new member of the Associate Provisional Staff, Family Practice. A graduate of George Washington University, she completed her internship/residency at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center. Dr. Shevlin is certified by the American Board of Family Practice and is affiliated with the LeBauer Health System. Elaine Griffin, MD, is a new member of the Associate Provisional Staff, Family Practice. A graduate of Baylor College of Medicine, she completed her internship/residency at Oregon Health Sciences Univ. and Virginia Commonwealth Univ., respectively. Dr. Griffin is certified by the American Board of Family Practice and is affiliated with Village Family Practice. Aleksei Plotnikov, MD, is a new member of the Associate Provisional Staff, Internal Medicine. A graduate of the 2nd Moscow Medical institute, he completed his internship/residency at Gunderson Clinic/Lutheran Hospital. Dr. Plotnikov is affiliated with the LeBauer Health System. James John, MD, is a new member of the Associate Provisional Staff, Internal Medicine. A graduate of Indiana University, he completed his internship/residency at Indiana University.
