MOSES CONE HOSPITAL
REVIEW
XI, No. 4
GREENSBORO, NORTH CAROLINA
August, 1977
New Wing Occupied
The first floor of the new wing came to life with a flurry of activity early in July as
files, desks, x-ray equipment, typewriters and other necessary equipment was
/ed into new quarters.
As Radiology and Medical Records (the first departments to move) vacated old
quarters, the contractor immediately began renovation in these areas. Later in July
Admitting and Emergency Department began their move into their first floor
locations in the new wing, and Division 2500 moved to the third floor location of the
new wing - which is now called Division 3700. Purchasing/Stores/Printshop also
moved into their expanded existing area.
All patients, including Emergency Room patients, will now enter the new patient
drive off Northwood Street.
There are two new entrances into the new wing. The canopy on the south end
covering the first entrance is for all inpatients being admitted or discharged, and for
outpatients other than those going to the Emergency Room. The second entrance
under the north canopy is the new Emergency Room entrance.
A new 158 space parking lot to the right of the Northwood Street entrance drive is
available for patient parking. There is also a parking area for emergency traffic to the
north of the Emergency Room entrance.
All visitors will continue to park in the preexisting visitors lot to the west of the
original hospital building, or in the front circle drive. Visitors will continue to enter
through the main lobby.
Fieight deliveries, sales and service people will continue to enter the Church Street
service drive entrance. A limited number of parking spaces has been reserved for
and service representatives near the rear of the building along this drive.
Personnel and medical staff will continue to enter the respective drives off
Tankersley Drive, and will continue to enter the building through the present doctors'
and personnel entrance.
