donating blood since January 15. 1962.
A total of 214 potential donors
pledged blood in the December 14
hospital sponsored Red Cross blood
drive. From the 159 who were able to
keep appointments. 139 were accepted
by the Red Cross. Twenty-nine of these
were first-time donors.

Kariher Named

Mr. Peter Kariher has been appointed
Assistant Director of the hospital in
charge of Out-Patient Operations which
includes the Emergency Department
and Clinic operations. He will also teach
medical practice administration to Residents in the hospital's primary care
residency programs and administer the
Family Practice Center. He replaced
Mr. David Rickelton who recently
became Administrator of Doctors Hospital. Cullman. Alabama.
A native of Rochester, N.Y.. Mr.
Kariher holds a BS degree in Business
Administration from the Rochester
Institute of Technology, and a Master's
degree in Health Care Administration
from George Washington University,
Washington, D.C. He served a Residency in Hospital Administration at
Washington County Hospital, Hagers-
town. Md.
Mr. Kariher came to Moses Cone
Hospital from the Bowman Gray
School of Medicine where he served as
Administrative Coordinator of the Family Practice Program for the past two
years. Prior to that he was Assistant
Director at Highland Hospital in Rochester for more than three years.
Peter, his wife, Kathleen, and their
two sons, Peter and Christopher, like to
spend their vacations and holidays
sailing and camping. The senior Peter is
also a photography buff.
