MOSES CONE HOSPITAL REVIEW Vol. V, No. 3 GREENSBORO, NORTH CAROLINA June-July, 1970 197 Offer To Give Bloodmobile Visit Is A Success The Red Cross Bloodmobile visit held at the hospital on July 7 saw 197 people turn out to offer blood. This tops by 37 the number on last summer's visit. Of the 197, 167 were able to donate. This included 38 who gave for the first time. The visit was the third highest in donors of the nine visits since the first one in July 1966 and was only two shy of the second highest number. According to Mrs. Jo Ann Pate, Bloodmobile director, this was an excellent visit particularly because so many people are on vacations at this time. The success of the visit is the result of the hard work by the team captains who contacted so many people on all shifts. Team captains included: Blanche Carter, Mary Ann Allred and Regina Loflin, Wayne Lail, Travis Grace, Margaret Garner, Robert Holt, Mary Saleeby, Helen Phillips, Juanita Hahn, Mary Hughes, Edith Evans and Georganna Koutsky, Bessie Williamson, Reginald Graves, Inez Wilson, Barbara Sharpe, Eddice Martin, Virginia Davis, Howard Walker, Patsy Jones, Ann Norwood, Barbara Durham, Adele Hough and Pearl Willis, Myrna Willis, John Pierce, Dean Andruk, Bud Michael, Mildred Wade, Billy Davis and Joan Adams. HOUSE STAFF 1970-1971—On July 1, the House Staff of Moses Cone Hospital was expanded to six members. All are here under the auspices of the UNC Teaching Programs of the hospital. Shown, seated left to right, are Dr. William B. Herring, Chief; Dr. George Lothian, senior assistant resident; Dr. Martha Sharpless, Chief of Pediatric Teaching; Dr. Ronald Joyner, senior assistant resident. Standing are Dr. James Little, junior assistant resident; Dr. James Winslow, intern; Dr. Robert Turlington, junior assistant resident; and Dr. Laurin Smith, intern.
