older adults stay active and involved

good health. Wesley Long Community
Hospital offers a special program designed
to enhance and maintain the well-being
of mature adults.
"Connections 55 is for people 55 and better
who want to stay healthy, active, informed
and involved," says Martha Boschen, RNC,
Manager of Older Adult Services at Wesley
Long Community Hospital.
Enjoying positive relationships
"Studies show that older adults need interaction with their peers," notes Boschen.
"Connections 55 provides the kind of group
interaction that fosters mental and emotional
well-being." Members can take advantage of:
▼ A wide variety of social activities,
including monthly Healthier Life
luncheons and dinners featuring guest
speakers, day and overnight excursions,
volunteer opportunities and intergener-
ational activities.
▼ Free health screenings, which are offered
every other month. November will feature a blood test for diabetes.
T Growing Wiser, a four-week mental
wellness program offered exclusively
in Guilford County at Wesley Long.
T Fun exercise programs, such as
The Connectors Walking Club
and Body Recall.
