These include Burl ington Industries. Edgcomb Metals, and Gale City Savings & Loan. Other large employer groups are being targeted by their open enrollmem date, that is. Ihe renewal date of their current coverage. As our enrollment grows, the chance that your office will sec a PHP patient increases. Our Plan is invisible to our members until they become patients in yourofficc, and then you become PHP to them. Your recognition of PHP patients will go a long way in making your physician's HMO successful in the community. We will continue to update you monthly on new groups enrolled in the Plan. The Chairman's Corner Wfe're delighted with the very positive response from the physicians in High I'miu during the last few weeks as they have chosen to join PHP of N.C. We are pleased to welcome each of them. Our networking efforts continue in Winston-Salem, as wc have met several times with the Steering Committee and their HMO consultant. The doctors there have plans to enter into a joint venture with Forsyth Memorial Hospital, and we feel a commitment to Charter Med from them would strengthen our efforts in the Triad area and statewide. Now that PHP is "up and running^' we know there will be minor grievances dial surface, as is true with any new business. More than ever, it's essential we keep all Ihe lines of communication open between the physicians, iheir offices, and the PHP staff. By working together, we can get the "bugs" out of the system and make PHP a stronger HMO in North Carolina. W. PHP Scorecard Enrolled Members 237 Physician Providers 305 Pharmacy Providers 77 High Point As of the September 1 deadline given Ihe High Point physicians to join PHP of N.C, fifty-seven applications were received in our office. This represents approximately 52 % of all the physicians in High Point. An organizational meeting will beheld in High Point on October 1 to provide additional information on PHP and discuss the creden- tialing process with physician applicants. Representatives to the Board of Directors and Utilization Review. Credentials, and Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committees will also be elected at this time, as per our local Board's original decision. The commitment from High Riinl assures an extension of our aggressive marketing efforts to that area.
