Hospitality Services blends cultures
When they arrived from Cambodia four years ago, the Montagnard people
received care from The Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital for war wounds and
illnesses such as malaria, tuberculosis and cholera. Now some of those same
people have returned to Moses Cone Hospital to work.
The Montagnards, an ethnic minority in Vietnam, lived as guerrilla fighters in
the Cambodian jungles for many years. Since they moved to the United States,
their future has become much brighter, and essentials that we all take for
granted — tap water, electricity and health care — are luxuries.
