Collection description
W. Edward Jenkins was born on November 24, 1923, in Wake County, North Carolina, to Willie and Emmaline Jenkinsj. He received his public school education in the Raleigh, North Carolina public schools, completing Washington High School. Following service in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (1943-1946) he entered North Carolina A. & T. Technical State University, where he received a bachelor of science degree in architectural engineering with high honors in 1949. Jenkins was a registered architect and practiced for thirt -nine years in North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, and Virginia. This collection documents some of his architecture and business career.
