The 1968 UNCG yearbook, Pine Needles, depicts an overall consciousness towards social awareness reflecting the concerns society in general at that time. This selection of pages gives a glimpse at race relations on campus during the late-1960s. Yearbook graphics, layout, and essays reflect aesthetics of the period. Included are sample pages of class portraits showing a representative black to white student ratio. Also included is an introductory essay reflecting contemporary politics, as well as a photograph of the Black Power Forum held on campus in November 1967.
