The 1975 Guilford College yearbook, The Quaker, reflect continued involvement of African American students as part of the college community, as well as the expansion civil rights to areas beyond race. Included are photographs of the student organization, Brothers and Sisters in Blackness (BASIB), and BASIB initiative, Black Children Can (BCC) working with African American youth in the local community. Faculty members Ed Lowe, Jim McMillan, and Dick Woodward's portraits are included. This year also marked the first time a black student was pictured as a member of the student Senate. Also notable was the inclusion of the Gay Liberation group, the first club representing a non-racial civil rights issue.
