In the 1977 Guilford College yearbook, The Quaker, are continued illustrations of integration of the college's sports teams, student organizations, administration, and the college community as a whole. Featured are portraits of student organization, Brothers and Sisters in Blackness (BASIB) and of Stokely Carmichael, guest lecturer for the event Journey into Blackness event sponsored by BASIB. Also pictured are minority faculty and staff members and the integrated choir, led by African American music professor Ed Lowe.
