The 1972 Guilford College yearbook, The Quaker, reflects continued integration of the school's sports teams, clubs, and community. Visible is the growth of student organization, Brothers and Sisters in Blackness (BASIB), continued integration of the men's basketball team along with some of the referee staff, and continued integration of the men's baseball team. Also pictured is the first instance of an African American cheerleader, and a portrait of fine arts instructor James McMillian. This year marked the first year of Richard Woodward as director of student placement, and Lenwood Smith as a biology instructor.
