In the 1965 Guilford College yearbook, The Quaker, African American students are represented. James "Jim" McCorkle is pictured in a candid shot while studying. Linda Moore is pictured in the International Relations Club photo. A candid shot of a class also shows Moore as the only minority student in full classroom. Also included is a photo of the African American band The Drifters performing on campus in the spring.
