Bell, B. Tartt (Creator)

Tartt Bell, originally of Anniston, Alabama, moved to Greensboro in early 1946, after being discharged from the Civilian Public Service. Bell, a Quaker, worked in the American Friends Service Committee (AFSC) office at Woman’s College (now The University of North Carolina at Greensboro). He went on to serve as the executive secretary and later director of the Southeast Region of the AFSC. In 1965, Bell moved to McLean, Virginia, and later to Reston, Virginia. He had three children: Bethany, Donald, and Timothy.
