Faculty
met
in
regular
session-all
members
being
present
except
Miss
Mendenhall
who
was
detained
by
sickness
. The
minutes
of
last
meeting
were
read
and
approved
. The
report
of the
Curriculum
Committee
was
called
for and
read
as a
whole
. Its
recommendations
were then
considered
and
voted
on
separately
.
Recommended
1st
That
Hygiene
be
stricken
from the
entrance
requirements
and be
placed
with
Physical
Culture
in the
Freshman
year-so
as to
read
in the
Catalogue
Physical
Culture
and
Hygiene
2
periods
After
considerable
discussion
it
was
moved
and
seconded
as a
substitute
for the
recommendation
of the
committee
that the
matter
be
left
in the
catalogue
as
it
now
stands
, and that
such
division
of
time
be
made
between
Hygiene
and
Physical
Culture
as the
heads
of the
departments
or the
faculty
may
determine
. This
motion
was
lost
.
It
was then
moved
and
carried
that the
recommendation
of the
committee
be
adopted
.
2nd
That
Civics
extend
through
the
Junior
year
,
two
periods
in the
fall
and
one
in the
Spring
.
Adopted
.
3rd
That
Physiology
be
required
in
Course
II
. That
Physiology
be
optional
in
Course
I
. That
Zoology
be
required
in
Course
I
.
Adopted
.
4th
That
Algebra
to
Quadratics
be
required
for
entrance
in the
fall
of
1904
.
It
was
moved
and
carried
to
postpone
action
on this
recommendation
till
next
meeting
. The
committee
on
admission
of
students
from
graded
schools
then
made
its
report
as
follows
:
Recommended
by the
committee
that the
graduates
of any
public
school
of
nine
grades
with an
annual
term
of not
less
than
eight
months
be
admitted
without
examination
to the
Freshman
Class
.
It
was
moved
and
carried
that
action
on this
recommendations
be
deferred
. The
petition
of the
graduate
students
to be
allowed
to
wear
caps
and
gowns
at
Commencement
was then
brought
up
for
discussion
.
It
was
moved
and
seconded
that the
petition
be
granted
. A
division
being
called
for
showed
14
ayes
