Description	The Constitution of the Cornelian Literary Society for the State Normal and Industrial School covers a series of articles that were approved by the members. Topics include the name of the Society, the object of the society being to "the promotion of general cultures, imparting a literary spirit to its members and increasing their power of thought and their habits of discrimination, the elevation of the moral tone of our school, the strengthening of the ties of friendship that unite us and above all, the cultivation of the ability for intelligent expression" as well as a discussion of membership rules, election rules, meetings on Friday nights, and the declaration that the constitution can be amended." By-laws include a list of committees, how meetings will be led, fines, the punishment of absenteeism, the loyalty of the members to keep the Society's doings secret, the branding of a "C" onto the face of a cow while speaking in Latin, a description of their pledge ceremony and finally that all new members are required to sign the Constitution.
