Hay 2, 1980 MEl10RAN Dtll1 TO: Chancellor Hilliam E. Moran FROM: The Coumittee to Advise on Station WUAG-FH 1. At its me~ting on April 30 thq Committee voted to submit the enclosed report which sets forth proposed guidelines for the administration and management of Unitrersity radi.o station \JUAG-FM and for placement of the station 1>1ithin the University administrative structure. In addition, the report includes a pro-posal for budgetary support of the station, called for by your instruction of Febr,uary 12, 1980. 2. At an earlier meeting on February 7, the Committee recommended that the University proceed to file for channel 291 and plan to operate HUAG-FM as a Class D station. The Committee aleo recommended thnt the University not foreclose discussions to work out a cooperative arrangement with North Carolina A & T State University to oper:ate a public service radio station. These recommendations were included, with appropriate discussion, in the Committee's report of ·February 0, 1980. 3. Hith this report, the Committee understands that it has fulfilled the charge given it in your memoranda of November 30, 1979 nnd February 12, 19130.
