Dear kids�
Don't be surprised, me writing this afternoon. We just had inspection (monthly) before pay day, so we are out. We had another test to-day. H.P.D. Test I had 91. That's no good for me I should have had 100, There's a girl here I think has whooping cough I pity her, she used to borrow ink from me every morning for her fountain pen. This morning we marched over with a band, boy can we march when that band plays, I just love it. Last night I was going to write but I went to the band concert. The first one they have had this year so far because it has rained every Tuesday night. Then I washed a few pieces of clothes, and went to bed. Some of the girls around me are so screwy they drive you nuts I ignore them till I go to the hospital. Well kids here's the news latest is any one over forty can request to get out after being in one year so prepare for it next March. One year of my time should be enough at my age. War over or not. Yesterday they asked each one of us if we wanted to stay till the war ended plus six months or not. I said yes but it doesn't mean any thing, after one year I will have 24 points to my credit 12 for 1 yr 12 for 1 child under 18,�Just went for supper. I didn't care for what there was so I just took a little corn a piece of onion, pepper, celery and lettuce tomato a piece of cake and plenty of apricots, beef stew is what was for supper, Interruption bed linen and shows I had heeled. Just a minute till I make my bed. Its 5:30 and we aired our bed. Every Wednesday we change linen and air beds,�I just hung mine out to dry in the sun a little while because it was damp even tho[though] it was mangled.
I'm writing Chubby a letter too tonight. Did you get my watch and Lee's? Put mine away and tell her to watch her bracelet one of them is loose and she might lose it. It unhooks at one place and hangs by one hook. Those kind of bracelets aren't worth the price paid for them. Anyway tell her to be careful. Watch out that bum downstairs doesn't receive any of our mail and bundles, her sister used to take our mail and keep it until I used to ask her for it. Its 5:40 and mail call is at 6:00 o'clock. After that I have detail to help clean up study hall. Well be back at 6:30, I may go back with a lot of those that flunked to study period. I don't have to go because my name wasn't called but I can go as a volunteer. I don't know yet. I hope you and Mac don't have to many differences while he's home. Don't let the neighbors have any to say about you. So far I haven't heard from you to-day, if I get a letter, in Chubbys I'll mention it. Well next year we will have a garden if the Lord permits. How is Lu? Hope Joe knows enough to leave her alone. Even here the priest said Sunday at Mass that the Catholic religion permits divorce for reason of abuse by the man of the family if she isn't going to remarry. So abuse is not allowed. I went to Confession and boy it feels good. Tell Sonny next Sunday is his last chance to do his Easter duty for this year. I thot[thought] sure he would send me some candy for mother's day. Did you try to get Films 120 if you get some I may be able to have some swap photo of some of the girls here. I found a dime and a nickel and Tell Chubby I'll send them to him so he can be lucky too. I found them in the grass at the parade ground when we drilled for P.T.
Did Mrs. Dobrowoki[Dobrowolski] have anything on exhibition at the Y? I'm glad you went to see it.
