Dearest Mother and Daddy," I'm having my P.M. to-day, so thought I had better get busy and write my letter, since I'm going to a dance to-night with Russ.
Well, 10 of the extra nurses we've had here on temporary duty left to-day. They are opening up their own hospital. So that leaves us pretty short-handed. Yesterday I worked from 7 A.M. to 7 P.M.- all day. I'm the only nurse on my ward. All of the other 10 wards, with the exception of one, only has one nurse.
I had a letter from ""Mom"" Parish yesterday, and also one from Louis.
The war news certainly sounds good, what with Russia declaring war on Japan, and this new bomb. That must really be terrific. Hope all of this will be over before too long.
Well, I guess Louis' leave will be up a week from to-day. Gee, but I wish I could have spent some time with him. We could have had so much fun to-gether. It will soon be a year since I saw him.
This seems like an awfully short letter, but at least it's something to let you know that I'm feeling good. So I'll say ""Bye-bye"" for now.
