Dearest Mother and Daddy," I received your letter yesterday that you wrote June 24th, and as usual your letters are so welcomed. Letters from home and the ones who are near and dear to us over here mean more than anything else. We just live from day to day for mail call.
I had a letter from Louis to-day, and I guess he's having a pretty lonely leave. Of course it's nice for him to be home, but there are none of his buddies there for him to pal around with. I also had a letter from Margaret and a card that Vivian wrote while she and Roberta were in Concord.
Yesterday another box came- the one with the brassieres in it, and they are fine. And you couldn't have pleased me any better than you did by sending me those pork and beans. Vivian and I just finished them for supper tonight. Mmmm. Also the jam.
There isn't much news. Everything is pretty much the same around the hospital. I'm still in charge of the same ward.
I was supposed to go out with Col. Arn the other night, but I didn't go. I told him I was busy.. Haven't heard from him since.
This is certainly a short letter, but I just want you to know that I'm fine.
