Dearest Mother and Daddy,"" Hope you will excuse the pencil, but I left my pen at the quarters at noon, and I'm writing this on duty. We're not so busy this afternoon.
I'm going swimming when I get off at 5:00, down at the beach.
Everything is fine and I'm feeling good. I haven't had anymore mail since the letter you wrote on Jan 28th. In fact I haven't gotten any mail in the past three day[s]. I got Aunt Esther and Uncle Clifford's Valentine, and also a birthday card from Miss Sweet. [?]
I'm still liking the work here in the Dispensary as much as ever and I would like to stay here for a while, but I doubt if I will.
I've been to several shows since coming here, and last night I saw ""Meet Me In St. Louis""
Well, I'm finally getting back to my writing, and now as you can see, I have my pen.
Its been pretty dry here the past week, and it is awfully dusty on all of the roads. Every day we have at least one shower, but not enough to settle the dust. I think this is supposed to be the dry season, and it is very hot.
I hope I'll get some mail to-day. We haven't had any in 3 days, so maybe some should be coming thought soon. I HOPE!" It seems like mail boosts your morale more than anything else.
I guess this is all for now. Here's hoping to hear from you soon.
