Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gayjj GREENSBORO, N.C. SEPT. 1999 NEW EDITOR TAKES THE HELM I have agreed to take on the duties of editing the monthly Greensboro PFLAG newsletter. It will be difficult to duplicate the excellent job that Retta has done for so many years. I hope that everyone will assist by supplying items that might be of interest to other members. Especially welcome are personal stories about the "coming out" process or other experiences that you would like to share. Essays, poetry, opinions about current issues - anything you can write - would be greatly appreciated. (You will soon be tired of hearing my opinions on everything, so send us yours.) Send submissions to tomcIarke@mindspring.com or bring to the monthly meeting. Retta has done an outstanding job in getting the newsletter out every month, but this is a major task and it is time for other members to assume more of the duties of running our local chapter. Retta says she wants to devote more time to advocacy, including speaking out to community groups on gay/lesbian issues. Retta will also continue to be the contact person for those new folks who need the support PFLAG offers. I know personally what a wonderful person Retta is to talk to in times of personal crisis. - Tom Clarke Quarterly Coordinating Committee decides on new structure The Quarterly Coordinating Committee met on August 24 and agreed to set up a new committee structure to carry on the work of the Greensboro PFLAG chapter.
