The three sonatas for violoncello and continuo from which these excerpts dirive have been attributed to both Alessandro and Domenico Scarlatti but are stylistically closer to Alessandro. Cf. Italian cello music [SR] 199- : container insert (Sonata in D-minor for violoncello and basso continuo).
