An ad.ourned meeting of the board of county commissioners was held Monday, when Mr. C. A. Wharton, of Wh.tsi-tt, who was appointed a member of the board by Superior Court Clerk Forbis to serve out the unexplred term of Mr. J. A. Davld-and son, resigned, appeared and took I the oa'-h of office. 1 The moat important business trans-a tad by the board at this meeting was the appointment of township commissioners to look after the pub-lic roid work In their respective townships, three commissioners being named for each township. In meeting of the commlss-oners plans for the proposed building were sub-mitted and considered in detail, and it Is probable that bids will le called for in a short while. The proposed bu lding will have a frontage of about 30 fe?t and will be two stories in height. It Is to be constru.ted jointly by the county commissioners and the couniy board of education and will provide offices for the two boards, the couniy treas-urer and the county auditor. The cost of construct on will be between $4,000 and $5,000. The rooms to be vacated in the court house wi.l be utilized by the other county officers, all of whom are crowded for space.
