Suspected Murderers of Mies Lydia Newman Before Squire Collins for a Trial. James Frailer and John Leonard, who are suspected of having been im-plicated in the recent brutal murder of Miss Lydia Newman, of Sumner township, and who have been in Jail for the past ten days, were arraigned before Justice of the Peace Collins last Wednesday afternoon for a pre-liminary hearing—Frazier on the charge of arson and Leonard on the charge of Indecent exposure. Upon the request of counsel for the defen-dants, and on account of the fact that Solicitor Fuller could not be present, the haaring waa continued until Mon-day morning at 10 o'clock. Later it was ascertained that Solicitor Fuller would be unable to be present Mon-day and a further continuance was granted until 10 o'clock this morning. Goo* Convention* Held In Morehea* and Center Grove Townships. The Morehead township Sunday school convention was held at Spring Garden Street Methodist church Sun-day afternoon and was well attended, delegates being present from the schools of the following churches: Cedar Street Friends, First Baptist, ^S ¥• ?'! Ctoistian, First Reform-ed Spring Garden Street Methodist, walker Avenue Presbyterian, West Market Street Methodist and Forest Avenue Baptist. In the absence of the chairman, Mr. E. L. Sides, the convention waa presided over by Rev. Shuford Peel-er, aecretary of the county associa-tion. Rev. T. J. Ogburn delivered a very helpful address on the work of the Sunday school. In the course of his address Rev. Mr. Ogbura said that no member of the church could be ex-cused for not attending Sunday school unless they were physically unable to be present. He aaid that the object of the Sunday school waa to save the little children and teach them to prepare for a life of service for their Master. Mr. Ogburn's address was followed by a round table discussion of "The Teacher," led by Mr. G. H. Miles and participated in by a number of other Sunday school workers. The secretary waa instructed to purchase a suitable township banner to be carried to the county conven-tion. PRELIMINARY HEARING TODAY.
Suspected Murderers of Mies Lydia
Newman Before Squire Collins for
a Trial.
James Frailer and John Leonard,
who are suspected of having been im-plicated
in the recent brutal murder
of Miss Lydia Newman, of Sumner
township, and who have been in Jail
for the past ten days, were arraigned
before Justice of the Peace Collins
last Wednesday afternoon for a pre-liminary
hearing—Frazier on the
charge of arson and Leonard on the
charge of Indecent exposure. Upon
the request of counsel for the defen-dants,
and on account of the fact that
Solicitor Fuller could not be present,
the haaring waa continued until Mon-day
morning at 10 o'clock. Later it
was ascertained that Solicitor Fuller
would be unable to be present Mon-day
and a further continuance was
granted until 10 o'clock this morning.
