Ends the Life of This useful Citizen. Mr. David N. Kirkpatriek, for many years an active and u.-elul citizen of Greensboro, died Monday morning at 10.30 at hie home just north of lhe city. Mr. Kirkpatriek was in hi* seventy-second year at the time of his death. For many years he was actively en-gaged in the manufacture of icick here, but of late the business has been man-aged by one of his sons, Mr. D. A. Kirkpatriek. M. College, at which time the Bacca-laureate
sermon was preached by Rev.
A. Sbepard, D. D, of Durham. Dr.
Sbepard took for his theme, "Practical
Religion," and delivered a very able
discourse to a large and appreciative
audience. The college chapel was
taxed to its utmost capacity and a large
number of persons were uuahle to gain
admittance.

Mr. David N. Kirkpatriek, for many
years an active and u.-elul citizen of
Greensboro, died Monday morning at
10.30 at hie home just north of lhe city.
Mr. Kirkpatriek was in hi* seventy-second
year at the time of his death.
For many years he was actively en-gaged
in the manufacture of icick here,
but of late the business has been man-aged
by one of his sons, Mr. D. A.
Kirkpatriek. About two years ago he
suffered au attack of pneumonia, since j

Capt. A. J. Clark, a resident of
Greensboro or its suburbs for several
years, coming here from Virginia, died
yesterday morning at bis home near
the fair grounds, aged sixty eight
years. He bad been in poor health for
sometime. The remains were taken
to Danville this morning for interment
in the family burying ground six miles
from that city.
