Van Noppen and children went to Atlantic City last week, where they will spend the great-er portion of the month of July. COL. R. 0. PREYOR DIES AT MONTREAL His Remains Brought Home and Interred at Greene Hill Cemetery Monday. Col. Robert O. Preyor, president of the Greensboro Lumber Company, whose illness covering a period of sev-eral months had been noted in these columns, died early Friday morning at Montreal,tuberculosis which developed in a sore on one of his feet being the cause of his death, the insidious disease finally permeating his entire system. Col. Preyor came originally from Ohio, where he had extensive business inter-ests at Cuyahoga Kallsand other points. He spent several years in eastern North Carolina and then returned to Ohio, but after a comparatively short stay decided that this state ottered oppor-tunities that should not be overlooked and accordingly came to Greensboro. During the year that he speut here he established a reputation as a capable and conservative husiuess man and the success that had marked his career elsewhere followed all his undertakings. With his family he became a member of West Market M. E. church soon af-ter his arrival and he was never uu-mindful of his obligations to his Mas-ter. A wife and four children survive, and truly they are bereft of a loving and considerate husband and father. He has not lost in-terest in North Carolina affairs or friends and hopes to visit the state two years hence. Georgia Newell, the eleven-months-old child of Mrs. George Newell, of William-ton, died Saturday night at 9.30 o'clock at the home of Mr. J. A. Coppedge, on Walker avenue, where the mother and child came to visit some time ago. The remaius were taken to Louisburg for interment. She had long been intimately asso-iated with the Pearce family here, of which Mrs. Mayo was a member, aud she seemed more like a member of the family than a friend. In her declining years she was tenderly cared for by these good people. Mrs. Shultz's hus-band, the late Lieut. Cornelius A. Shultz, was a veteran of the civil war and lost au arm in that memorable conflict. Their marriage occurred soon after the war. Possessed of a kindly and self-sacrificing disposition such as is rarely met with, Mrs. Shultz retained her friends until the last. COL. R. 0. PREYOR DIES AT MONTREAL
His Remains Brought Home and Interred
at Greene Hill Cemetery Monday.
Col. Robert O. Preyor, president of
the Greensboro Lumber Company,
whose illness covering a period of sev-eral
months had been noted in these
columns, died early Friday morning at
Montreal,tuberculosis which developed
in a sore on one of his feet being the
cause of his death, the insidious disease
finally permeating his entire system.
Col. Preyor came originally from Ohio,
where he had extensive business inter-ests
at Cuyahoga Kallsand other points.
He spent several years in eastern North
Carolina and then returned to Ohio,
but after a comparatively short stay
decided that this state ottered oppor-tunities
that should not be overlooked
and accordingly came to Greensboro.
During the year that he speut here he
established a reputation as a capable
and conservative husiuess man and the
success that had marked his career
elsewhere followed all his undertakings.
With his family he became a member
of West Market M. E. church soon af-ter
his arrival and he was never uu-mindful
of his obligations to his Mas-ter.
A wife and four children survive,
and truly they are bereft of a loving
and considerate husband and father.
The funeral services took place Mon-day
morning at 9 80 at West Market
