Greensboro has an opportunity of securing the new Methodist Protestant college, the location of which is to be determined at a meeting of the college committee to be held here about the 2'ith of this month, and Mayor Osboru lias given notice of a public meeting to be held tomorrow night for the purpose or securing proper concerted action on the part of our citizens, Rev. J. F. The receipts on our market for the past week were not as heavy as they were for the previous week, yet there was enough tobacco on sale to keep warehousemen and buyers reasonably busy. The quality of tiie offerings was not so good as it lias been and there was a larger proportion of the common mean tobaccos than heretofore, yet there was enough good wrappers to make it interesting for our wrapper buyers. Prices were a little better on all grades of common to medium to-baccos than they were week before last. Wrappers remain about the same, with the best of them selling at s^-5.00 to $4>.0 i per hundred. The executive committee of the North Carolina Bankers' Association will meet at the Hotel Cuilfoid here tomorrow. One of the questions to be decided is the selection of a place and time for holding the annuai meetiim of the association next year.
