Michaux, of Liberty, died at his home Monday afternoon af-ter an illness of several months dura-tion. He was about seventy-seven years of age and was a well known minister of the Methodist Protestant churcb, though he had not been en-gaged in active work for several years on account of old age and increasing feebleness. An aged widow and sev-en children survive him. Ha was a brother of the late Rev. J. L. Michaux and an uncle of Dr. E. R. and Mr. J. S. Michaux, of this city. —The Southern Loan and Trust j Company, which has been steadily' growing since its organization, will go into the bankiug business January lst, l'.iOO. Mr. Robert G. Vaughn, who has been cashier of the Piedmont and later the City National Bank, has purchased stock in the Southern Loan and Trust Company and will be elected treasurer of the company and cashier of the bank.
