JANUARY MEETING
WHEN: Tuesday, January 20th

given in your yearbook is incorrect.
WHERE: The home of Jean Spangler, 38H
Henderson Road
WHAT: Coffee and an extremely important
business meeting.
There will be a charge of $1.00 for the
coffee. Please make your reservation when
contacted by the telephone committee; we
hope every one will try extra hard to be there
to take part in the discussion.
BUTNER PARTY
The Christmas party for the patients at
Umstead Hospital at Butner was a tremendous
success, with each patient receiving two
gifts plus homemade goodies. Thanks are due
to Sue Hatcher, Jo Smith, Betty Herring, Mary
Ann Hertle, SandyPatseavouras, Jean Spangler,
and Betty McCracken.
A special note of thanks to Ellen Marks, who
was responsible for obtaining many of the gifts.
CHRISTMAS CARD
Our Christmas card this year netted approximately $900 from about sixty three contributors
We are very pleased to be able to contribute
this amount to AMA-ERF as a result of this
project.
A large thank you to Betty Jane Buie for
designing the attractive card, and thanks
to all who contributed to make this project
such a success.
"OUR DAY ON THE HILL"
We have been notified by the state auxiliary
president that Tuesday, March 3, has been set
aside to give medical auxiliary members an
opportunity to meet their congressmen and
senators. If you would be interested in
making this trip to Washington, contact Ceil
Sue for further information.
DUES
Treasurer- Marian Whitener reports that
some members may have overlooked their dues.
State and National dues must be in by Jan
31st, with a final membership report.
THE COLD WEATHER IS HERE
Some children are without warm jackets,
sweaters or even shoes. Won't you look in
your closet for childrens clothing, sizes
3 thru 10? Call Betty McCracken, or better
still take them to her.
DOCTORS DAY
Is coming up in February. It promises to
be a lot of fun. Our doctors always look
forward to this, lets have every one's
whole hearted support. Emily Smith is
chairman this year.
MENTAL HEALTH
Marianne Ann Hertle will be unable to
continue as chairman of our mental health
committee, Nancy Courts and Sue Hatcher
have volunteered to continue. We'd like
to take this opportunity to thank Marianne
for the great job she has done for us.
