GUILFORD COUNTY MEDICAL AUXILIARY
Greensboro Branch
GATHER YE REST WHILE YE MAY
OLD SUMMER'S REALLY FLYINGi
AND FOR THE REST YE ENJOY TODAY,
TOMORROW YE WILL BE CRYING'
With apologies to Robert Herrick, I send you Greetings from your
Medical Auxiliary. I'm truly looking forward to the year. Your enthusiasm and
willingness have indeed done my soul' good. And now, let's all join hands and
do the good that we know needs doing and enjoy the fellowship and fun that will
do us good.
Frances Lake is busy finishing program plans. Some promise to be
interesting and profitable, and some are purely for enjoyment. Do make plans to
get in on all of them. Of special interest to all of us is a Choral Group which
will be organized under the direction of Lib Allgood. If you can carry a tune,
please plan to take part. If not, plan to enjoy listening - with me. You will
be hearing from Lib early in Septanber. This group will give one of our programs
and furnish music for our Doctor's Day program. So get in voiceI
On Tuesday, August 26th, in Winston-Salem, there willbs the Fall
Board Meeting and Workshop. All board members are requested to attend if at all
possible. All members are invited, and will, I'm sure, enjoy it and find much of
interest. If you can attend, please call me at once, for the deadline for the
luncheon reservations is August 21st. I will call in your reservation and send
the $2.7$ for the luncheon. Don't worry - I'll see you on the 26th.
We will meet Tuesday, August 26th, at 9:00 A.M. in the Friendly
Shopping Center, behind the Drive-In Bank and arrange our car-pools.
I am sure we can safely plan to be back in Greensboro by 5:00 P.M.
I'll be hoping to hear from many of you. This should be an enjoyable
and profitable outing and an opportunity to meet many folks from all
over our State.
Please note Pam Charlton's enclosure and give it your prompt consideration, as you have in thfe past. As you know, our dues are our only means
of financing our local, State and National projects.
Looking forward to seeing you on August 26th, and then again on the
Uth Tuesday of September for our first meeting.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Roy M. Smith, President
National Theme for 1958-1959
