HISTORY OF THE GUILFORD COUITY MBDICAI AUXIIIARY
GREENSBORO BRANCH 1$65-66
To be historian for the Gre<nsboro Branch of the
Guilford County Medical Auxiliary in the year 1965-66
sets one's head in a whirl. Fever Have I observed so
much that was so good going on in so many directions.
This observation was proven to be correct since our
leaders returned from the State meeting in Ashevllle
in May with a silver bowl for the best-all-around
auxiliary in the state, a first place award ir. Community
Service, and second place in ','ental Health. This was
indeed a good year for us to stand oUt in the crowd
since the state President is one of our members.
Were I to even try to write a brief history of all that
happened it would, I'm afraid, cloud the pride with
weariness for all. The key word for the year was most
surely service to others. The programs were geared to
this mala purpose, also. In several cases we met where
we were serving. At the meeting at the Evergreens
Nursing Home we saw the 190 pairs of drapes that had been
made b our group and also took 63 permanent flower
arrangements for the rooms. One cf our meetings- was at the
Cerebral Palsy School where many cf our members give
much volunteer time. ,re heard of the work of the
~?ed Cross and how the doctor's wives can serve in this area,
The new Korthwest Community Center was visited in "ardh.
There we heard of the recrrational facilities and programs
