Dear Dr. Reed:

I want to thank you for your expression of sympathy
over our loss of Sidney, Jr. in whom we had built such great hopes.
I have referred to Dr. Norman Garrett your
recommendations with respect to our after dinner speaker. He will get
in touch with me as soon as he can meet with his committee to make a
decision, I will then write or call to let you know their choice.
We would like to get a committment on Dr. Best for
1959, but hesitate to do so in view of our annual elections, which occur
in January, and it is at this time that new officers appoint the
chairmen of committees. We feel that it would be beyond our power of
office to commit the unelected officers to a pre-arranged program.
However, we may bring this up before our executive committee to see if
they will authorize this program.
I hope I may call on you again for help, which you
have so generously given to us.
Sincerely yours,
M. L. LeBauer, M.D.
