Featured Speakers James E. Davis, M.D. President-Elect American Medical Association Currently serving as President-Elect of the American Medical Association and assuming the position of AMA President later in 1988, Dr. Davis will deliver the Twenty-Fifth Annual Herman Cone Lecture at the March 22,1988 Greensboro Medical Symposium. Other past honors of and services by Dr. Davis are his three year term as Speaker of the AMA House of Delegates, a three year term as Vice Speaker of the AMA, President of the North Carolina Medical Society, President of Medical Mutual Insurance, and President of the UNC General Alumni Association and of the Medical Alumni Association. Having received a M.D. degree from the University of Pennsylvania Medical School, Dr. Davis is a Professor of Surgery at the UNC School of Medicine and Associate Professor of Surgery at Duke University School of Medicine. He is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Andrew Tobias Our evening speaker will be Andrew Tobias, raconteur and one of the best financial writers around. He is the author of The Only Investment Guide You'll Ever Need and Money Angles. He is author of numerous articles which have originally appeared in Playboy, The American Lawyer, Parade, Esquire, Fortune, New York Times Magazine, and The New York Times Book Review. We can look forward to an amusing and insightful analysis of the present financial world. Twenty-Fifth Annual HERMAN CONE LECTURE Tuesday, March 22, 1988 in conjunction with The Greensboro Branch of the Guilford County Medical Society "Where Are We Going?" James E. Davis, M.D. These memorial lectures were established to honor Herman Cone, industrialist, civic leader, and Vice- President (1918-1947) and President (1948-1953) of the Board of Trustees of the Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital. His dedication and influence were outstanding in the planning, construction and early management of the hospital. Sponsored by The Moses H.
