Such services may include, in addition to regular inpatient and outpatient services, such additional functions, including preventive programs, long-term care, and respite care, as may be required. All persons and groups, related to the Hospital must exert every effort to ensure that the Hospital is operated effectively, efficiently, and economically. L. Richardson recognizes its fiduciary responsibility to the community as a voluntary, not-for-profit institution operated for the benefit of the community. In order to fulfill this responsibility, the Hospital shall provide for future viability and development by setting its charges to realize a reasonable operating margin and preserve its assets and competitive position through sound management techniques. PURPOSES 1. To provide facilities, engage personnel, and organize programs to deliver acute inpatient and outpatient health services to the residents of the City of Greensboro and immediately adjacent portions of Guilford County, underserved communities in adjacent counties, and all others in need of these services. 2. To reduce episodic and fragmented aspects of care and help ensure long-term benefits to patients through the provision of long-term care, rehabilitative services, and respite care.
