Mrs. Armfield
Mrs. Jane Armfield was re-elected as
a trustee at the Board of Trustees'
Annual Meeting held on May 7. Mrs.
Armfield has served as a trustee of the
hospital since 1961.
Also re-elected to terms as trustees
were Mrs. Mary Taylor, who has served
Mrs. Taylor Mr. Cone
as a trustee since 1969, and Mr. Ceasar
Cone, President of the Board of
Trustees, who has served as a trustee of
the hospital since 1944.
The Guilford County Medical Society
reappointed Dr. Edward P. Benbow,
Jr. as trustee. This is Dr. Benbow's

appointee to the position.
Dr. Issac Miller was elected by the
Board as a trustee at the May meeting.
Dr. Miller is President of Bennett
College. He has served as president of
the college since 1966.

The Board of Trustees reappointed
Dr. Charles M. Hassell Chief of
Pathology effective July 1. Dr. Hassell
was first appointed Chief of Pathology
in 1973. His reappointment is for a
three-year term.
Dr. Robert H. Farley, a Greensboro
general surgeon, was appointed Chief
of Surgery at the Trustees' May 7
meeting. Dr. Farley's appointment is
effective July 1 for a three-year term.
He succeeds Dr. John E. Lyday who
has served the hospital as Chief of
Surgery since 1972.
Dr. T. E. Sikes, Jr. was appointed
Chief of Dentistry by the Trustees. He
will fill the unexpired term of Dr. James
Finn who served as Chief of Dentistry
from 1970 to his death in March of
1975. Dr. Sikes previously served as
Chief of Dentistry from 1964 to 1970.
Sixteen physicians will join the
hospital's residency programs on July 1.
The total number of residents in July
will be 33.
Third-year residents in the hospital's
Family Medicine program as of July 1
are Dr. Alan M. Firestone, Dr. Roy E.
Harvey, III, Dr. Douglas Rogney, Dr.
Jeffery A. Todd and Dr. Stanley C.
Wilson.
Second-year residents in family medicine are Dr. Peter F. Blomgren, Dr.
Harry N. Davis, Dr. David W. Euans,
Dr. Arthur Green, Dr. David C. Keller,
Dr. Wayland W. McKenzie, Dr. Stephen C. Seltzer, Dr. Richard S. Vaughn
and Dr. Stanley E. Yellin.

Mrs. Jane Armfield was re-elected as
a trustee at the Board of Trustees'
Annual Meeting held on May 7. Mrs.
Armfield has served as a trustee of the
hospital since 1961.
